Chocolate comes from the beans of the cacao tree, a fragile and fussy plant which initially develops under the shade of other trees. It grows naturally within a narrow belt around the equator.
Chocolates are promoted as having antioxidant value but current literature is not definitive on the long term benefits. What is clear is eating good chocolate makes you feel good. The better the chocolate the more exquisite the experience.
Chocnews will feature regular culinary and scientific items on chocolate topics and topical news about how chocolate affects the lives of the people who participate in its production from the tree to the box.
The purpose of Chocnews is to improve our appreciation of the value and taste of chocolate.
